Let Them Eat Cake

While reading one of my favorite design blogs by the lovely Jennifer, I came across this cake. Now I don't normally plan children's parties, but if I did, this cake is a must! I can just see the fascinated expressions on the kid's faces. It's like an edible box of crayons. And speaking of bday parties, I want to send a very special birthday shout out to my mom who turns 70 today. And trust me when I say, she doesn't look a day over 60. Gotta love those genes!

Perfectly Scented

The lovely Tamiko, owner and creative mind behind luxe candle company, Helen Julia is now offering free UPS shipping on all orders placed on the site. You know I am a huge fan of her incredibly scented candles, Sexy Suede in particular. They would make perfect stocking stuffers as well as hostess gifts. Enjoy the day!

Red Hot!

Red is such a vibrant color, definitely not something for the faint of heart. I have yet to work on an event which used red as the dominant color, but I would love to. It would look lovely complimented by shades of dark brown, grey or even matte silver and black. I read a post a few days ago by one of my fav planners, Liene of Blue Orchid Weddings, who wrote that planners should try and stretch their skills by finding inspiration in places other than previous events (by themselves or other planners). Being an Aquarius, my mind tends towards the abstract in most things which comes in handy as a designer. That being said, take a look at the vision board I created and let me know what you think. Carpe Diem!
